Bird Assassin - Braindead Birdbrains

Bird Assassin is one of the many games which fled the 'XBLA' service to try and find sales on PC. In fact there's quite a few of these trying to compete to get into steam but somehow this one managed to worm its way across onto steam and sadly it isn't a good one. The entire game first off feels cheap and nasty thanks to a really limited graphics set and Xbox button inputs spread across the screens without any regard to what control you are actually using.

The cheap nature follows through however with late 90s-esque Newgrounds 'Murder' game taste levels with random blood spread across the screen and an incredibly basic control setup and store-menu. Each level has you racing from left to right, shooting everything in sight and avoiding everything that moves in the sky and anything that doesn't move (cacti, spikes) on the ground. Its as basic as can be and worst still, its also insultingly easy as each level can be pretty much cleared by holding right and keeping your finger on the left mouse button. The upgrade system is pointless and by the time you have hit the halfway point, all the upgrades are already bought causing everything from that point on to be even simpler than before and by the time the 9 levels are finished the only thought that will be running through your head will be a resounding 'Why did I play this again?'.

It basically just feels like a cheap and old flash title from Newgrounds and quite frankly, that's where it should have stayed.
