Race the Sun - Run to the Hills! Run for your Liiiiife!

Race the Sun isn't your usual 'Infinite Runner' in many ways... though it still is an infinite runner style game, only you cant really run on infinitely and there's always a end to it, only if you have the skill you can thanks to a series of power-ups and such... uh... Should I start this review again?

The whole premise behind race the sun is simple, race across for as long as possible without crashing into anything. The twist however arrives with the light mechanic, if you just continue on as far as you can without collecting power-ups, you wont get far because as soon as the light from the sun vanishes, your 'craft' stops moving, the only way you can delay this is via a series of 'Speed' powerups which speed up your craft for a brief moment, letting you race ahead of the sun, keeping it within view.

And it really is that simple. There's a few extra bits here and there from shield powerups to jump powerups and teleports, but for the most part its staying alive for as long as possible and racking up the largest score you can. This game is addictive as they come and the day-by-day reset helps fuel the score-chasing even moreso as every day, the whole track gets reset, levels shift and the leaderboards are wiped once more, ready to give players a new challenge every single day.

Graphics-wise the game does well too, its quite basic but that actually works in the games favour as because the level of clutter is at a minimum, its easier to pay attention and to keep focused on scoring as much as possible. The music used helps push things along brilliantly with soothing tunes for the first few zones, war-like music for later and a tense music-set for when the sun has almost vanished, all keeping a real focused feeling the entire way through.

And that's that really, the game is clean, focused and incredibly addictive and is well worth buying.
