Hexcells - Zen Minesweeper

Hexcells manages to be an incredibly calm and soothing title, a mix of simple and clean graphics along with some soothing music, a UI that reacts easily to everything you do and a distinct lack of urgency throughout. Hexcells is basically Minesweeper, with the stress taken out and replaced with calm, content gameplay.

Here you have to uncover every single 'hex' to clear the level, each number showing how many blue hex's are around it, numbers with { } marks around them, indicating that the hex's are linked up and number with - - marks around them, showcasing that the hex's are separate from each other. Later on the game also introduces a few extra bits and pieces such as numbers that display how many blue hex's happen to be in each line. The whole thing means that there's usually very little guesswork involved, with most of the solutions worked out through clear logic.

And really that's all I have to say about it. Its a very small title, there isn't many levels (The levels are pre-set thanks to the way the game is set out) but the asking price is incredibly low. I would suggest picking this up if you ever are in need of something smart, but also something that's incredibly de-stressing. There also happens to be a level pack called 'Hexcells Plus' which costs the same as the base game, should you want anymore puzzles to play with.
