Freedom Fall - FREEDOM!

Recently released on Steam we have Freedom Fall, a tricky little platformer from Stirfire Studios. Now before I had actually finished this on Desura but apparently there's new things this time around to play with. Lets dive down shall we?

Firstly, while this game likes to set itself as sort of the 'Punishment' platformer that's popular with Indies, its actually a lot fairer than it makes itself out to be, checkpoints are aplenty, collectables keep with you after death and levels often provide multiple paths through a level with 'Easy' and 'Hard zones.

Its because of this though that its so easy to speed through, okay there's some leeway left over for speed-runners and people wanting to try and clear it without dying but even with that there happens to be very little content with each level completed fast along with the new bonus underwater level.

Thankfully the game does happen to have a lot of character, the Princess in particular coming off as part Glados with scribbled messages across the walls, both there to taunt you but also there to actually flesh her out as a character with likes, dislikes and a sense of loneliness.

Even still... The game is a hard sell at the current price. Make no mistake, it is fun and worth playing through... However its just over and done with far too quickly. If its on sale though, grab it and grab it fast.
